Hello ! Thank you for your interest in becoming a staff member of The Complex!

Hiring Status: Not Hiring.
Original Creation Date: April 29th 2014.
Last Updated: May 01st 2014.
Updated By: Ma Dai / Dai.
Please keep a log of any edit(s) made to this application in the appropriate section below. No matter how small the edit, no exceptions. Please and thank you!

: + : APPLICATION RULES : + :

Please ensure you read, and follow these rules - anything that breaks these rules will be automatically declined. If you're unsure on anything, please DON'T post and instead ask a staff member for help, at the desk.

Quote :

  • Please be aware that your application should be titled in the format of XYZs' Application. For an example, we'll say that XYZ is represented by Angel Feathers. Her application would then be titled Angel Feathers' Application.

  • Under no circumstances are you to reference, or otherwise cheat off of someone's application - their answers are their own, and yours should be, too. They worked hard on their's, and you shouldn't attempt to steal it - you wouldn't like it if you spent two hours on yours and someone stole it, would you?

  • Applications belong in the Staff Applications Forum. You may find it by clicking your "back" button, or clicking HERE. Simply hit the New Topic button, located on the top left of the webpage.

  • Your application is not permitted to be edited in any way, shape, or form without explicit permission from Angel Feathers or Crystal15733! Please post log(s) of the permission given at the bottom, including exactly what what was edited.

  • You must use the coding provided at the bottom - and please do not alter it. If filled out correctly, it should be fairly easy to read and won't be in need of any edit(s) to tbe base coding. Please ensure you run your application through a service that deals with spelling and grammar checks - nobody wants to read hi how r u?

  • Please do not reply to ANY applications, not even your own. The only ones allowed to respond are those who hold the rank of General Staff Member or above, who should be posting their detailed opinion(s) on your application - these greatly affect if you will be hired or not hired. Generally, they will run through your application and quote what they did and did not like about your application. Then, they'll have "Recommended" or "Not Recommended" at the bottom of their opinion(s). Please do not pester staff members to respond to your application, they are under no obligation to do so.

  • Every question is required, unless otherwise stated.

  • Please ensure that you're posting your answer in the area where the italicized explanation of the question is located. Do NOT post your answer on the same line as the question. Also, please make sure to remove the part in italics, and replace it with your answer.

  • If a question is two or more parts, please make sure you answer ALL parts of the questions - you may be automatically declined if a portion of a question is ignored, as it will count as missing a question.

: + : APPLICATION BASE: + :

Please don't be overwhelmed by the sheer size of the application! It's honestly not that difficult, and shouldn't take very long to fill out - but if it takes you two minutes or less, you're doing something wrong! Please remember that detail is everything! Make your application different, add in personality! :) You'll find the coding to copy and paste into your topic, below.

Section One : Basic Applicant Information.

Your Furcadian Name:

What is the name of the primary alt that you would like to have share on? Please note that you are not required to list your main alt. Simply the one that you will be using the most in the dream.

Secondary Alt Name:

You are permitted to have two (2) alt(s) on share at any one point in time. If you have another alt that you would like to list here, please do so. You may, of course, change alts later - but keep in mind you're only permitted two at any one point in time!

Your Gender:

This is optional, and will not reflect your application in a negative manner should you choose not to answer. If you identify with a different gender other than your own, or what your characters' gender is, this is the place to put it. Please feel free to provide your pronoun of preference, if you're gender fluid. c: You don't need to give your physical gender, we're just asking what makes you most comfortable.

Are you currently working in other dream(s)? If so, which one(s)?:

Do you currently have share in any forms? If so, please list them. You may also list your rank(s) within those dreams, as well as how long you've been working there!

Have you previously worked in any other dream(s)? If so, which one(s)?:

Did you previously work in any other dreams? As above, please list them - it's optional to list your rank, as well as how long you worked there. You may also include your experiences, but you don't have to. However, please keep in mind it may reflect your application in a negative manner if you choose not to.

Have you owned any dream(s)? If so, which one(s)?

Have you owned any of the dreams mentioned above? It doesn't matter if you created them yourself, or if the dreams were later given to you to manage as an Owner of it. You may also include your experiences, but you don't have to. Keep in mind it may reflect your application in a negative manner, however

How long have you been playing Furcadia?

Please note we're not asking for exact dates, nor the name of your first alt. We're asking when you first created your alt, approximately. Appropriate answers would be things like, 'two weeks', 'three years', 'ten years', etc. This is NOT a trick question.

Are you involved with Dragon's Eye Productions in any way, shape, or form?

We're basically asking if you're currently a welcomer, beekin, guardian, staff member, etcetc.

Would you like to tell us about yourself?

This question is optional.

For what reason(s) are you interested in working at The Complex? How did you come across the dream, and what made you stay?

Please attempt to answer Who, When, What, Why, and How with this. In other words, who brought you to the dream? When did they bring you? What made you want to apply for staff? Why did you apply for staff? Why did you come to the dream? Why did you stay in the dream? How do you plan to make the dream better?

In your own, personal opinion, please state why we should hire you above another applicant:

This question is not meant for you to overlook other applications and decide why you're better than them - that is not what this is asking. We're asking why you believe you should work here, and what you can offer. The more detailed this is, the better your application looks. Please know this question is optional.

Section Two : Basic Dream Knowledge & Understanding

How often are staff members to hold apartment checks? What would cause a staff member to clear an apartment?

Pretty basic!

What are the ratings within the dream?

Please ensure you read this quite carefully!

How long are people allowed to AFK behind the desk for? Where are they pushed to, if they are afkpushed? How do you get staff to stop afkpushing you?

Three-part question, please ensure you answer all three questions - and please ensure you read very carefully.

Who created the dream?

Who created The Complex?

Who owns the dream?

The current owner(s) - you don't have to list the co-owners.

Does The Complex have any game(s) to offer? If so, what are they?

Fairly basic! Do we have a games lobby room, or anything of the sort?

Section Three : Dream Scenario(s)
Please take notice that an additional rule comes in to place, here. All questions must be at least 3 FULL, complete sentences - not fragments or partial sentences. Please don't attempt to break up your answer into smaller sentences, but instead add more detail. If you're struggling to write three sentences, you're missing something! Try to respond to each and every sentence.

For this scenario, please imagine yourself as a patron within the dream, currently situated at the desk. Surrounding you are two members of staff who are quite obviously close friends, as well as four other patrons. Two of those guests are also close friends, and have taken it upon themselves to begin to cause trouble within the dream. At first, it's nothing serious. However, the situation escalates and someone has politely requested the two guests stop their behavior. In return, they're told to "fuck off" and are then trolled to the point where they have decided to leave the dream entirely. At this point, the staff haven't responded to the situation at all. Offended, you whisper them and request they step in - however, they tell you that they haven't broken any rules. They then accuse you of attempting to behave like a staff member, and threaten to eject you. You then choose to ask the offenders to stop, politely. The staff warn you a second time, and begin to troll the group of patrons who were trolling in the first place. In return, those patrons troll the staff members, and accuse them of being disrespectful. Those two guests report the situation to Angel Feathers, however you have a feeling those log(s) are edited to remove their trolling. As such, you whisper Angel Feathers with logs and screenshots. However, you know something must be done about the situation RIGHT AWAY - and nobody else is online. Guests are beginning to come in the dream, and their request(s) for help are being ignored due to the fighting at the desk. How do you handle this situation, preferably without getting yourself ejected?

Please write your answer in this area.

The dream is having a wonderful day, and out of nowhere the dream has a large influx of 80 people. However, there have been at least 100, if not more, users within the dream at three separate times throughout the day. The desk is full, seating 25 staff (on the desk, around the desk, and in the middle) members and 11 patrons (on the pillows) if everyone squishes in - which they're doing. There's more people crowded around on the floor, leaking out into the pillows. Overall, there's about 50 people attempting to be near the desk to talk to their friends - and only about eight of those 50 are AFK, but haven't been pushed. Staff refuse to push them, as they're not over the time limit. Patrons are incapable of getting close to the desk at this point, so they're unable to request help, and their requests must be whispered or repeated by another guest so that the staff member can help them. There's several conversations going on at any one point in time, and people are getting confused by the quickly moving conversations. The desk area begins to be spammed with text, and misunderstandings begin to lead to people treating one another rudely. Rules aren't quite being broken just yet, but you can tell things will escalate quickly.

A) How would you respond to this, as a patron?:

Using the above scenario, please describe how you would react if you were one of the patrons in the desk area at this time.

B) How would you respond to this, as a staff member?:

Using the scenario mentioned previously, please describe how you would react if you were one of the patrons in the desk area at this time. This portion of the question is optional.

Staff member X and Y have made it quite apparent that they disagree with one another, and do not like each other in the slightest. Both members take it upon themselves to whisper malicious things about one another when the other isn't around. Over time, they begin to do it while the other staff member is present, but away - just so that they can't defend themselves, but they still get the logs. Other members of the staff team begin to take sides, and it creates an obvious division at the desk. Private fights become public, as staff members repeatedly look for ways to annoy one another in any way possible. Specifically X and Y, be it from afkpushing the other the moment their AFK status pops up, claiming the desk was "busy" and so they needed to be pushed. X sells an apartment to a patron, and Y puts it up for sale - only to re-sell it, just so their name is emitted instead of X's. A third staff member, Z, steps in and begins to micromanage the situation - fully believing they're helping, when the situation only begins to become worse. Z is close friends with X, and begins to show favoritism even when X is clearly breaking rules - such as extending the desk into the black area. When no action is taken, Y begins to pull their friends onto and behind the desk - claiming the accounts are just Y's alts, when they're not. They claim they have permission to do so from the Dream Owner, who isn't around to rectify the situation and is planned to be away for two weeks. How would you handle this situation?

Please write your answer in this area.

In this scenario, you've recently been accepted as a member of the Trial Staff Team and don't have the power to eject someone from the dream. In the late hours of the evening when you're the only staff member on duty, two guests come into the dream and request apartments side by side. You sell both of them their requested apartments, and everything appears to be fine. You then receive a complaint via whisper, requesting you come to their apartments to sort out a situation. When you arrive, those guests are fighting over several items that are clearly blocking anothers' yard. Upon getting the entire story, you learn patron X placed the large item in their yard. Patron Y complained, and asked it was removed as it blocked the majority of their yard. Patron X refused, which the other allowed to slip by. As they continued, patron X placed two more items to block the others' yard. When patron Y asked it was removed, and declined, they went and moved the items themselves. They were evicted from the house, and refused further entry. Patron Y begins to place items in their yard, which blocks X's yard. X removes the item themselves, and they begin spamming one another and swear excessively. As it turns out, it was a third person, Z, that whispered you - able to see the fight going on. When they tried to mediate it, Y and X began spamming in Z's perm and removing items! So, they whispered you. X and Y are complaining that Z is behaving like staff, when they're not. What do you do?

Please write your answer in this area.

A) You appear to resolve the matter, but, all three guests come into the dream a few days later. One is upset with the way you handled things, and politely requests to speak with someone in charge. You feel they're defying you, and undermining you as a staff member. Not to mention, you feel bringing up something from a couple of days ago is causing drama. There is a Manager in the dream, but they're re-decorating their staff room; so you'd need to whisper them. Another whispers you to compliment the way you handled the situation, and the third doesn't comment. How do you respond?

Please write your answer in this area.  This portion of the question is optional.

B) You appear to have resolved the original matter(s) of the apartments, and submitted a report to someone higher than you. For the sake of the example, we'll say you reported it to a Manager who advised you keep an eye out for them in the future. Everything seems to be just fine, until you notice those three are in the dream together once more. This time, they seat themselves at the desk on opposite sides and begin to make spiteful comments towards one another when the chat falls silent. As a result, another member of staff at the desk gives them a warning to stop. They have no knowledge of the previous events. However, one of the offending patrons openly insults the staff member who warned them, receiving a second warning as a result. The other remains silent. A number of hours later, they begin to fight again. Once more, they receive a warning - and talk back to staff members, but don't say anything that could get them ejected. It's clear they're looking for loopholes in the rules and are exploiting them, and they repeatedly attempt to get you involved by saying the staff are being unfair. In their eyes, they're simply talking, and receiving warnings for no reason. What would you do?

Please write your answer in this area.  This portion of the question is optional.

Within the desk area, someone becomes bored and heads to the items room and returns with a custom chair / another item to sit on. They paste it over one of the seat(s) at the desk area, and sit on it quietly. They're not disturbing anyone, and nobody bothers them about the item. However, the dream begins to get a little but busy and patrons begin to paste over other items at the desk area and all around it. Staff do the same, and even the physical desk / table item(s) are changed. Everything is unmatching. Someone then complains the decor is hard on their eyes, and a staff member requests that everyone who changed an item please return the original. At first, nobody responds and continues their chatter. They ask a second time, and are ignored again. You step in, and ask a third time - issuing a warning for ignoring a staff member. Although begrudgingly, most people change the items back to normal - but some are complaining that the treatment is unfair. Others were permitted to have their items, so why couldn't they? How would you respond?

You are not required to respond to this question - it's a bonus, and optional.

Section Four : Additional Information

Other:

Do you have anything else to add? Please feel free to add any other section(s) needed! But, you are not permitted to remove any of the above sections. If you choose to not fill this part in, that's okay! It won't affect your application in a negative manner. c: However, this is a wonderful opportunity to thank staff members for their time.

End Application.

If you're interested in filling this out for a chance to become a staff member, then please copy the coding below into a new topic in the Applications Forum. If you are accepted, you will be notified in the form of a post in your topic by the Owner or the Co-Owner. You will be requested to contact them for training, at which point you will then be put on a one week trial. Within that week, we will determine if you are staff material for The Complex. At which point, you will then be promoted to General Staff or fired.
